Vacation Bible School 2006 was a great success!  Our theme this year was "Fiesta!  Where Kids Are Fired Up About Jesus." 

A total of 25 kids and about 25 adults participated from Wednesday through Saturday.  We began each night with Sing and Play Ole, where we sang away our sorrows and troubles with lots of cool songs.  We learned to say "Yes Lord" whenever Jesus speaks and to Cha-Cha-Cha!! 

After singing, we began our Fiesta!  Classes rotated though rooms of various activities including the Bible Adventures, where they learned a story about Jesus.  They learned how Jesus heals the sick, raises people from the dead, and calls his disciples to follow him.  After the Bible adventure, students went to Chadder's Theatre, where they watched a DVD about another fiesta starring Chadder the Chipmunk.  They learned that Jesus is our friend -- VIVA!!! 

Next, students played fun games at the park to illustrate the stories about Jesus. 

After games, they came back inside and worked on a craft mission project.  They helped put together blankets that will be sent to Central and South America for children who need them and need to learn about Jesus.  With each blanket, a Spanish version of the stories we learned will be included so those students can hear about Jesus too.  The children also made picture frames to take home. 

After the Fiesta each evening, we had a drama, starring the middle/high school class, to illustrate the stories one more time. 

On Saturday, we concluded VBS with a Fiesta Carnival, where students could use the "money" they earned all week to spend on games, crafts and other events.  It was a hot day, but thanks to the good cool snacks that day and each evening, we all kept cool.  

Everyone who attended had a great time.  A very special thanks goes to each one who attended, volunteered, donated items and worked hard to make our FIESTA the best one ever!!!
